One more featuring Those French Boys, in their distinctive boudoir setting with glorious painted backdrop and admittedly rather shabbily draped furniture. This 19th Century set is so delightfully, unashamedly pornographic, in contrast to the artistic nudes which make up the majority of my collection - I’m always hopeful of finding more and hadn’t seen this particular shot before.
Maybe it makes me a sappy romantic at heart but I do love finding pictures of kisses during pornographic photoshoots of this era - the little moments of tenderness look adorable even if it’s simply being acted out for the camera and not truly felt. This sweet example shows Those French Boys in a much more relaxed pose than their usual acrobatics - the one on the right is extremely pretty in this, isn’t he!
A sixth and so far final photograph of those French boys (the rest can be seen tagged here). The chair-balancing looks none too comfortable, but I love the casual attitude of the other chap - such a funny photograph.
My memory may not be what it once was, thought I’d posted this one before, heh. I’m slowly running out of actually pornographic pictures, there were a lot more like this example early on in my archive so why not take a look back through the delightfully dirtier beginnings of this collection!
Displaying quite admirable flexibility from the fellow on the left, this is one of those familiar pictures I’ve seen in many places but somehow never posted until now.
Somehow I have thus far neglected to post this photograph of Those French Boys, despite having first seen it months ago. There are a few more from this 1880’s photoshoot, I shall endeavor to bring you the full set eventually.
We haven’t had a photograph from the set of those French boys for a while, here’s another. Not the most pleasing of expressions in this shot, one a look of utter concentration while the other - oh, what are you doing with your eyes, sir?
Forever finding it wonderful to recognise faces in these pictures from over a hundred years ago, that not one but many shots from each set have survived so long, into an entirely different era - where they’re no longer a forbidden, filthy little secret to be bought in unmarked brown paper envelopes but can be openly shared and appreciated without shame or taboo. What these models would have thought of our still seeing their photographs, generations later!
